Jaipur, une ville bouillonnante est mill\u00e9naire pr\u00e9sente un patrimoine fantastique. Entre son City Palace, son fort et ses p\u00e9pites un peu moins connues, on en prend forc\u00e9ment plein la vue ! Mais cette beaut\u00e9 attire beaucoup de visiteurs du monde entier, au point de se demander : cette ville a-t-elle \u00e9t\u00e9 g\u00e2ch\u00e9e par le surtourisme ? Je vous emm\u00e8ne dans ma d\u00e9couverte de trois jours de la ville de Jaipur, en Inde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">City Palace, Jantar Mantar et palais des Vents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ma premi\u00e8re journ\u00e9e \u00e0 Jaipur d\u00e9bute par un petit coup de fatigue. Les derniers jours ont \u00e9t\u00e9 intenses, alors je prends un peu plus mon temps. J&rsquo;arrive au City Palace vers 10 heures. Ce b\u00e2timent a <strong>servi de r\u00e9sidence royale \u00e0 partir du 18\u00e8me si\u00e8cle<\/strong>. L&rsquo;endroit est plut\u00f4t joli avec une succession de petites cours. J&rsquo;aime particuli\u00e8rement l&rsquo;une d&rsquo;entre elles avec plusieurs portes absolument magnifiques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-6 is-cropped litres d&rsquo;eau. En 1902, le Maharajah de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque <a href=\"https:\/\/est-en-ouest.fr\/index.php\/tag\/grande-bretagne\/\">devait se rendre au Royaume-Uni <\/a>pour le couronnement d&rsquo;Edouard VII. Tr\u00e8s pieu, le Maharajah ne pouvait se permettre de boire <a href=\"https:\/\/est-en-ouest.fr\/index.php\/2023\/12\/25\/inde-du-nord-cap-sur-varanasi-la-ville-la-plus-sacree-au-monde\/\">autre chose que l&rsquo;eau du Gange<\/a> : il a donc emmen\u00e9 ses r\u00e9serves avec lui. Un mus\u00e9e pr\u00e9sente diff\u00e9rents objets et habits de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque : on apprend notamment que le polo \u00e9tait pratiqu\u00e9 en Inde d\u00e8s le 17\u00e8me si\u00e8cle. Des inventeurs de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque avait mis au point une incroyable balle permettant de jouer la nuit, <strong>gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un m\u00e9canisme sophistiqu\u00e9 permettant de stabiliser une <strong>c&rsquo;est tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 par les touristes<\/strong> : des cars d\u00e9versent d&rsquo;imposants groupes d&rsquo;europ\u00e9ens et d&rsquo;am\u00e9ricains. Je me rends ensuite au Jantar Mantar de Jaipur, juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9. C&rsquo;est un observatoire <a href=\"https:\/\/est-en-ouest.fr\/index.php\/2023\/12\/15\/train-trip-en-inde-du-nord-le-charme-secret-de-delhi-la-bouillonnante\/#:~:text=avant%20d\u2019aller%20visiter%20Jantar%20Mantar\">construit par le m\u00eame sultan que celui de Dehli<\/a>. Il en a fait construire 6 au total, et celui de la ville rose est le plus grand ! Apr\u00e8s d\u00e9jeuner, je visite le palais des Vents, dans le m\u00eame quartier. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit \u00e0 partir de 1799 pour que les femmes du harem puissent observer la ville sans \u00eatre vues. L&rsquo;\u00e9difice est tout simplement sublime et immense. Tout de gr\u00e8s rose et il est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un des chefs d&rsquo;\u0153uvres de l&rsquo;architecture Rajput.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-5 Meena ka Kund et monkey temple.<\/strong> C&rsquo;est \u00e9galement une journ\u00e9e qui m&rsquo;a confort\u00e9 dans le sentiment que j&rsquo;ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 ressentir la veille : une ville bien trop touristique o\u00f9 l&rsquo;occidental n&rsquo;est vu que par le prisme de son portefeuille. Mais surprise, il n&rsquo;est pas seul : un de ses amis, Mubarik, l&rsquo;accompagne ! C&rsquo;est un ch\u00e2teau immense construit au 16e si\u00e8cle. J&rsquo;en d\u00e9marre la visite et constate avec chagrin que <a href=\"https:\/\/est-en-ouest.fr\/index.php\/2025\/03\/20\/thailande-approcher-au-plus-pres-des-elephants-au-sanctuaire-baan-mama\/\">des \u00e9l\u00e9phants sont utilis\u00e9s pour monter les touristes<\/a> jusqu&rsquo;en haut de l&rsquo;\u00e9peron rocheux sur lequel la forteresse est b\u00e2tie. Je ne peux que vous encourager \u00e0 vous renseigner sur les conditions dans lesquelles sont dress\u00e9es les \u00e9l\u00e9phants utilis\u00e9s par les humains. La citadelle en elle est m\u00eame est vaste, tr\u00e8s jolie et remplie de monde. J&rsquo;arrive toutefois \u00e0 trouver quelques pi\u00e8ces et coins plus tranquilles pour profiter pleinement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-6 is-cropped instantan\u00e9ment de me vendre un parc aux \u00e9l\u00e9phants, dont les conditions captivit\u00e9 sont particuli\u00e8rement mauvaises. Je refuse et insiste pour \u00eatre conduit \u00e0 Panna Meena ka Kund, un puits \u00e0 degr\u00e9 assez embl\u00e9matique du secteur. Ni une, ni deux, on se retrouve serr\u00e9s \u00e0 trois sur la banquette arri\u00e8re (j&rsquo;avais pas pay\u00e9 pour avoir le tuk-tuk pour toute la journ\u00e9e, moi !?). Mubarik sort ses meilleures <s>vannes<\/s> disquettes pour essayer de les s\u00e9duire. Je me retrouve alors \u00e0 parcourir le village en large et en travers \u00e0 la recherche de l&rsquo;h\u00e9bergement des demoiselles. Puis, encore un peu plus tard, je me retrouve \u00e0 trinquer avec Ali et Mubarik \u00e0 la bi\u00e8re ti\u00e8de, assis sur un rebord de trottoir, le long d&rsquo;une route tr\u00e8s passante. Vous ne comprenez pas l&rsquo;enchainement ? Moi non plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est midi (que midi !), je me fais d\u00e9poser dans un restaurant pour d\u00e9jeuner : Ali et Mubarik essaient successivement de me vendre des \u0153uvres d&rsquo;art, des bijoux et des costumes faits sur mesure par un tailleur. Je pense que pour un bon prix, ils auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00eats \u00e0 vendre leur propre m\u00e8re. Puis ils m&rsquo;expliquent qu&rsquo;ils doivent faire une course pour les deux su\u00e9doises et qu&rsquo;ils reviennent vite. Apr\u00e8s une longue attente, qui vois-je sur la banquette arri\u00e8re ? Bravo. Les deux su\u00e9doises. Nous nous mettons alors en qu\u00eate pour elles d&rsquo;une piscine et \u00e9cumons tous les h\u00f4tels \u00e0 la recherche de cette eau devenue plus sacr\u00e9e que celle du Gange aux yeux de nos deux chiens de la casse (et conducteurs de tuktuk \u00e0 leurs heures perdues).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au bout du troisi\u00e8me h\u00f4tel, j&rsquo;en ai marre. Je donne la moiti\u00e9 de ce que j&rsquo;avais pr\u00e9vu \u00e0 Ali et saute dans le premier tuk-tuk pour aller voir le Monkey Temple que j&rsquo;avais planifi\u00e9. L&rsquo;endroit pourrait \u00eatre vraiment joli, c&rsquo;est une succession de bassins et de b\u00e2timents de cultes coinc\u00e9s dans une fine vall\u00e9e dans la montagne&#8230; Mais des tonnes de d\u00e9chets plastiques jonchent le sol. Ma matin\u00e9e est consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 un cours de cuisine. Je rencontre Ghanshyam et Dimple qui ont ouvert leur \u00e9cole il y a cinq ans. Avant \u00e7a, ils ont essay\u00e9 de tenir un restaurant, mais leur affaire n&rsquo;a pas fonctionn\u00e9. J&rsquo;enfile mon tablier, et me voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 en train de couper oignons, tomates et autres pommes de terre. Je d\u00e9couvre les savants m\u00e9langes d&rsquo;\u00e9pices qui font la richesse de la gastronomie indienne. Les deux g\u00e9rants sont adorables et c&rsquo;est un moment vraiment agr\u00e9able ! Sur ma route, je croise des enfants et adolescents en pleine partie de cricket. Je les photographie de loin, et ni une ni deux, c&rsquo;est une dizaine de gamins qui gravitent autour de moi et prennent la pose. Les plus grands me proposent de m&rsquo;essayer \u00e0 leur, ce que je fais.
